I've missed the Interwebs

This week has been my first week back in the city, and it's been a little bit insane.  I did lots of stuff.  Like see Harry Potter (eee!), see my first structure fire in the city (and of course I had to send pictures to my brother and dad), paint my shelves, finally put away my clothes, have my mother come visit, go to another open bar. have dinner with cool people, and I don't even know what else.

Oh, and a little baby kiddo probably my brother's age tried to hit on me waiting in line to sit down for a 9pm flight from Oahu to Los Angeles by telling me that he liked my hair.  These are the things I thought about when that happened: Are you talking to me?  What is even going on?  Who are you?  You have an NBC Sports shirt on.  Why are you hitting on me?  I'm wearing my pajamas.  How old are you?  You're such a baby.  Why are you carrying a Guitar Hero guitar on the plane with you?  Was that really a necessary carry-on?  Do I have to sit next to you?  People are laughing at this right now.  I'm glad I can amuse everyone.  Thank god I didn't switch my seat to the exit row.

But technically that happened before this week.

This is what I did last night... the latest Improv Everywhere Mp3 Experiment.  It was socoolzomg.  Look out for the video compilation in a couple weeks!  Then we went to a bar and played Jenga and drank pickle juice.  No, I'm not kidding.

Tomorrow is day one of getting back on track with my fitness goals.  Now that vacation is behind me and I'm a little more settled into my apartment, I have no more excuses.

Ugh I've never appreciated weekends so much more in my life.

Back to work tomorrow!

Some Thangs I Did in Hawaii

So I didn't blog all week in Hawaii, and that's okay with me because I was too busy doing awesome stuff, eating lots of noms, and falling asleep at 9pm.   But now I'm all like, "crap I was in Hawaii for a week and didn't blog at all and now I'm leaving today" so here's some stuff I did.

I ordered a bagel with veggie cream cheese and they were like, nah man, we don't have that, but we can give you a bagel with cream cheese and veggies on it, so I got this.  And I ate it, and it was delicious.

I waited for like seven million hours in Old Lahaina for the Fourth of July fireworks, and I had to sit on the road, but then these happened, and it was worth it.

I got this sunburn, even though I put on a lot of sunscreen, and I'm just like, how is my skin that red??  How was it that white??  Why does this always happen to me???

I also got a sunburn on my knee in this weird shape because evidently I missed that spot when putting on sunscreen, so it looked like I had some weird skin disease.

I took a ride in the car with my fam up around the top of Maui until it said that the state highway ended, which I didn't really understand because it's not as if the road was that populated before the highway supposedly ended.  And then we saw some cool stuff like this.

And some more cool stuff like this.

I took some goofy pictures.

I can't even pretend to understand myself.

I told my parents what planking was, so they were like, you wanna plank that rock?  So I did and then this happened.

WHEE I'M JUMPING OFF NO WAIT JUST KIDDING I'm afraid of heights.

We went ziplining which was reallysuperawesomecool but apparently I didn't get the joke in this picture.

I have some really neato pictures of ziplining because there were some mad long ziplines, but here's a video my mom took of me on the first (and shortest) one.

I'm just so cool, bro.  Too cool for school.

And I did some other stuff too like a luau and jetskiing and shopping and eating and stuff but all those pictures are on my camera and I don't have my memory card reader so I guess those will just have to wait!  But now I have to get on a plane and travel like 18 hours back to New York where my apartment and job are waiting for me and it's like WOAH REAL LIFE CRAZY all over again.

I could totally be all cheesy like "Aloha Hawaii" here which is what I would do if I was fourteen and had a LiveJournal but OH HEY WHAT THE HECK!!!....

ALOHA!!!

I Appreciate Summer Vacations So Much More

The past couple of days have been pretty insane.  I moved into my apartment, which was ridiculous, but I forgot my camera uploader at the apartment, so I haven't been able to upload any photos.  No photos usually = no blogging in my book, mostly because I rely on pictures to draw people in way too much.

But, I shanked my mom's iPhone in order to take some pics and upload them, so we're back in business.

We spent over 24 hours traveling to Maui, Hawaii, and arrived at about 4pm Hawaii time (what time zone is that?  Hawaii zone?  Island zone?  Middle of the ocean zone?  Speaking of which, what time zone(s) is Alaska in?  I will Google this).  It was such a long trip (I know, shouldn't be complaining, right?), so please forgive my anticipated lack of humor in the blog post.

Apparently my pink hoodie with the hood up was intriguing enough to my mother that she needed to take a picture of it.  My father also says that my orange sunglasses are a "fashion statement," but not in a good way.  I don't think they've come to understand all of my eccentricities yet.

So I took this really flattering photo in retaliation.  I believe I succeeded.

After four flights and six (?) time zones, we arrived in Maui!

It was upon arriving at the hotel, though, that I realized that my parents had evidently decided to relocate us from Connecticut/New York to Hawaii.  The evidence??

This is not a hotel.  This is bigger than my apartment.  What is going on??

There's one bathroom...

...one bedroom...

...a full living/dining room...

...this pretty painting...

...THIS KITCHEN??...

...uh, another bedroom...

...and another bathroom?  Where am I?  What have I become?  WHAT IS THIS PLACE???

Make a funny face in the mirror...

Oh yeah, and this view.  Beautiful!

My brain kindof isn't working any more after nomming on some fish tacos and watching fireworks and not getting any Cold Stone so I think I need to seeps now.  And get a tan tomorrow.

Uh.  Yeah.  That's not gonna happen.  I'm the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Love,
Courtney
